Error message when you attach a .docx file (Office 2007) to a record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0: "File Upload Failure"

When you attach a .docx file to a record in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:

File Upload Failure. There was a problem while attempting to upload the requested file. Check the file path and try again. There was a problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM Server. The server might be unavailable. Try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

This problem occurs because the number of characters cannot exceed 50 in the MIME-type field of the AnnotationBase table. However, the extensions of some Office 2007 files contain more than 50 characters.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Techical Support for Microsoft Dynamics and related products to obtain the hotfix. You can log on to the Microsoft Dynamics site and create a new support request.

To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Primary Contact not Account related

When you add a new Account to Dynamics CRM and (immediately) add a Primary Contact from the same form (a new Contactperson) via the Lookup button and then 'New', the newly created Contactperson is not related to the Account.

If you open the Account form, the Contactperson is defined as a Primary Contact, but when you click on this Primary Contact you'll see there is no related Account... (You'll get the same result if you click on Contacts).

This can be fixed by making the AccountId attribute of the Contacts entity 'Business Required'.
